Hi,
I am an 18 year old teen and have been suffering from thinning hair for several years now. My scalp where my part is and a bit in the back has also been showing for several years too. In the morning when I wake up, hair will be on my pillow and fall on my shoulders. When I run my fingers through my hair, I will catch at least 10 pieces of loose hair. On average I loss 100+ a day and I have really little hair to begin with. Recently I went to a dermatologist and my family doctor also diagnosed me with alopecia but they said it would grow back. The dermatologist told me to take Biotin 5 mg and I have but the condition stayed the same if not worse. I also use strengthening shampoo by DCL, as recommended by my dermatologist. I am in one of the lowest periods of my life right now and have so little self esteem because of my balding. I eat rite and all my female cousins have thick and strong hair. I am up to the point where I just want to shave off my head and wear a wig but I don't know how much that would help. Everyone keeps telling me you wont go completely bald, that might be so, but even seeing my scalp and thinning more is bad enough. How can my hair grow fast enough to replace the many lost each day?! What can I do now?Teenage Hair loss - should I wear a wig?
Well, instead of shaving your hair and wearing a wig, how about getting clip in hairpieces to blend with your hair?
They have clip in topper pieces to clip in over the crown of your head. This addition hairpiece features three pressure sensitive clips for secure attachment and is perfect for hair loss on the crown of the head:

There are also some 3/4 fall wigs that allow you to pull some of your own hair through the cap so that it blends with your own hair. I would look at enhancer hairpieces. Hang in there! =)Teenage Hair loss - should I wear a wig?
i know it sucks but you can still look beautiful. i've have a couple of girl cousins with hair loss problems and guy friends. the guys i know with alopecia just shave their head. guys get off so easy with everything. but my girl cousins had it rough though. (cancer not alopecia but same hair loss, eventually going completely bald) my little cousin just wore cute hats and stuff but she was pretty young. my other cousin was in her late teens/early twenties. she didnt shave her head she just cut it short and started wearing wigs. and she always looked so cute. i wouldnt shave it for when the patches start growing back or if you want to wear a hat and have some pieces hanging out. it stinks but you can look mad cute with different wigs and if you have some hair left you can wear cute hats and people wont even know you have bald spots.
i hope this helped! = )
