Teenage girl hair loss?

so ive been losing a LOT of hair latley, mostly in the shower. my hair gets really sweaty and greasy so i have to wash it every day but i try to lower it to every other day and im really scared. ive been REALLY stressed out these last couple of weeks and i even switched back from herbal essences dangerously straight stuff back to head and shoulders and dove therapy conditioner. im going to the doctor sometime this week for it but i was wondering if someone could help me?

im not on birth control, i dont use acne medication. i barley style my hair anymore and when i do i only straighten my bangs and use hairgel to scrunch my hair. idk what to do anymore :( thanksTeenage girl hair loss?
as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections, hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also I used herbal treatment - Provillus (do not use Rogaine - it can cause unwanted hair growth elsewhere on the body)

It is a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair! I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!Teenage girl hair loss?

it is normal for people to lose a fair amount of hair. it is especially noticed in the shower and/or when brushing/styling hair. this is because you are grooming the hair and pulling away the shedding hair.

hair grows in spurts. and while it is constantly replenishing new hair, it is shedding or getting rid of the old hair.

this is normal.

however, if you are getting bald spots, or your hair is thinning terribly, seek medical attention. this could be due to a keratin deficiency (protein in body that grows hair and nails)

or it could be a condition known as alopecia (which makes hair fall out)
Since as far back as I can remember, I've shed A TON of hair. And I stress on the ';TON'; part (my hair is already very fine and thin, by the way). (: It can be triggered by a lot of things, including stress. That is what stuck out most to me in your question. Also, from my own experience, it seems pretty normal that most girls (especially teen aged ones) lose quite a bit of hair, and also older women. You may want to choose a shampoo and conditioning system that is specifically made to promote strong, healthy hair. But definitely don't worry about it unless you start to notice your hair really thinning out, resulting in bald spots.
hi,

i had a lot of hair loss too, especially with stress. i tried all sorts of vitamins for hair %26amp; herbs for stress, but nothing worked. this isn't to say that junk food and unhealthy habits don't matter! but about a year ago i started taking biotin, 5mg per day--i just started taking 2 pills a day, don't know why i didn't think of that before :D 'oh!

it didn't stop overnight but after a month or two my hair stopped falling out. whereas before i would get a depressing handful of hair every time i washed or brushed my hair, now i get less than 10 strands falling out. my hair is growing faster and is so thick that even a clerk at my grocery store, where i've been shopping for a few years, complimented me yesterday!

there are expensive ';hair skin %26amp; nails'; vitamins you can take, but i've been using just biotin. i get it from vitacost.com, a 10-month supply for $12.

many people have recommended silica to me for healthy hair. just 2 or 3 days ago i started taking silica in the form of DE (diatomaceous earth--it sounds weird but i did lots of research), and today when i brushed my hair, i swear only 2 or 3 strands came out! i've bought ';biosil'; in the past, $25-35 for 60 capsules, but i got a 5lb bag of DE for $8.
